Is It Normal that…
Sexuality and relationships
Codice SDI: M5UXCR1
A meeting to talk about sexuality and relationships in a clear, reassuring, and scientific way.
An open dialogue to promote well-being and encourage discussion on issues related to respect and relationships together with Dr. Mirko Manzella, psychologist and sexologist.
On October 10, 2025, in Trieste, an event promoted by Mimma Dreams APS and sponsored by the Municipality of Trieste took place at the Teatro del Polo Giovani Toti, entitled “Is it normal that… Sexuality and Relationships”.
The meeting involved citizens, activists, experts and curious people, with the aim of making room for dialogue on topics often considered taboo: emotions, desires, relationships and sexual health.
Among the most distinctive moments, there was an interactive format: the audience, through a digital platform projected in the hall, was able to send anonymous questions such as “What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of pleasure?” or “Which animal would you associate with sexuality?”. The answers stimulated debate and broke the embarrassment.
At the end, the expert Mirko Manzella (psychologist and sexologist) answered the questions with a participatory and non-judgmental approach.
At the same time, the No Gender Gap project was also presented, funded by the European Union, which aims to reduce the gender gap through training aimed at young people and educators

Planned Activities
Expected results and impacts
The meeting “Is it normal that… Sexuality and Relationships” made it possible to address topics often considered difficult with simple and direct language.
Many people took part actively, sharing thoughts and questions through the interactive platform, a sign of the real need for spaces where they can express themselves without feeling judged.
The approach of Mirko Manzella, based on dialogue and mutual listening, helped clarify doubts and dispel some common myths about sexuality, encouraging a more aware collective reflection.
The participatory format showed how it is possible to talk about these topics in an accessible, engaging and useful way also for those who work with young people or in educational contexts.
The event also represented an opportunity to raise awareness of the European project No Gender Gap, highlighting the importance of bringing concrete paths of emotional and gender equality education into schools and associations.
In short, the initiative helped create connections, open a sincere discussion and give continuity to the work of Mimma Dreams in promoting a culture of respect and awareness.
