Youth Participation in Advocacy and Reform for Gender Equality

The project promotes the active involvement of the new generations in the prevention and fight against gender-based violence within universities and secondary schools.
It arises from the needs expressed directly by the young people involved.

Project Duration

The project was created with the aim of actively involving young people from secondary schools and universities in the prevention and fight against gender-based violence, transforming them from simple recipients to true protagonists of change.

In a context where gender-based violence continues to represent a serious violation of human rights and an urgent social challenge, it is essential to act not only through regulatory tools, but also by building cultural awareness and practical skills in the places where new generations are formed.

The project responds to real needs that emerged from an analysis conducted directly with the young people involved, who expressed the desire for more information, concrete tools for participation, and opportunities to engage in dialogue with institutions.

Planned Activities

The project aims to generate concrete and lasting results through an integrated approach that combines effective management, targeted communication, and active youth engagement.

Among the main expected results are:

The implementation of awareness campaigns capable of increasing awareness and knowledge on the issue of gender-based violence among students and school and university communities.

The production of concrete policy recommendations, developed directly by the young participants, which will be presented and discussed with political and academic decision-makers to positively influence policies and practices to combat violence.

The establishment of a permanent dialogue between young people and institutions, fostering more active and direct participation of new generations in decision-making processes regarding policies for the prevention and fight against gender-based violence.

The overall impact will therefore be to promote a culture of respect and responsibility, strengthen the role of young people as agents of change, and ensure the sustainability of actions over time, thus expanding the positive effect of the project even after its conclusion.

The project is structured as a 15-month journey that combines management, training, active participation, and communication.

It will begin with an organizational and coordination phase, which includes a kick-off meeting and monthly meetings to monitor the project's development and manage financial and administrative aspects.

At the same time, communication and dissemination activities will be launched, with the aim of involving not only the promoters but also young participants and policy makers, through digital channels and traditional tools.

At the heart of the project will be training activities and youth participation: interactive seminars with experts on gender-based violence, digital workshops to develop policy recommendations, and moments of direct dialogue with institutions. These opportunities will allow young people to acquire knowledge, develop critical skills, and contribute concretely to the construction of anti-violence policies.

Finally, the project will conclude with a closing and valorization phase of the results, to ensure the sustainability of the actions and long-term impact, keeping the dialogue between young people and decision-makers alive even beyond the formal conclusion of the project.
