Seminiamo Parità: three days in Trieste to build a fairer future
From 4 to 6 April, the first focus group of the Seminiamo Parità project, promoted within the Erasmus+ programme, took place in Trieste. Three intense days, full of exchanges, discoveries and active participation, with young people from different parts of the region.

We started with a warm welcome, made up of icebreaking activities that helped us to get to know each other, break the ice and immediately create a safe space for discussion. Together, we also discovered the value and opportunities offered by Erasmus+, the European programme supporting our journey.
One of the most surprising experiences was the city rally through the streets of Trieste: a real hunt to discover the female figures who have influenced the history of the city. For many of us it was a revelation: we did not expect to find so many stories of strong, innovative, courageous women, who too often go untold.
The following day saw us engaged in deeper work: we confronted the issues of gender violence and the gender gap, trying to understand their causes through the activity of the problem tree. We analysed the roots that generate these dynamics and their consequences. From here, a path of collective construction of concrete, ambitious and high-impact solutions was born.
In the afternoon, we stepped into the shoes of decision-makers with realistic role playing: we simulated a municipal council to understand the political dynamics and how, concretely, proposals can be brought forward and approved. An intense, participatory and truly enlightening experience.
The third day was dedicated to drafting policy recommendations to be sent to decision-makers in the region. Our words are the result of an active, conscious and profound confrontation. Now they are ready to make their way to those who can turn them into real actions and policies.
And it does not end here: the next step will be to meet in Naples, together with the focus groups of Campania and Puglia. There we will work on shared recommendations and launch a national awareness-raising campaign on gender-based violence. Because change needs voices, ideas, courage. And we are ready to take it forward together!
