PGTSummer 2025: il gran finale al Polo Giovani Toti tra laboratori, creatività e comunità
On Thursday, September 4th, the spaces of the Polo Giovani – Youth Center “Toti” (via del Castello 3, entrance from San Giusto) were filled with energy and young voices for the final event of PGTSummer 2025, the summer festival organized by PAG – Progetto Area Giovani of the Municipality of Trieste.
A highly anticipated event that brought a beautiful close to a summer of activities spread throughout the city’s neighborhoods, bringing to the Polo Giovani a unique mix of workshops, performances, creative labs, and opportunities for dialogue – all free and open to the public.
PAG – Progetto Area Giovani is much more than a program: it's a vibrant and inclusive community made up of young people, associations, and youth groups who find in Polo Giovani Toti a free space to meet, experiment, organize activities, and express their creativity.
Through its various projects, PAG promotes active participation, citizenship, education, employment, international mobility, art, sport, and well-being, with the goal of creating opportunities for young people aged 14 to 35. It stands as a key reference point in Trieste for personal growth, dialogue, and imagining the future together.
An Event Full of Stories and Meaning
The final event of PGTSummer featured a wide range of groups and activities, each bringing something original, engaging, and thought-provoking to the evening.
Here’s who brought the night to life:
AIESEC – with English conversation workshops, moments of intercultural exchange, and the sharing of international experiences.
BETAVERSO – with a brilliant, interactive stand-up comedy show that actively involved the audience in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
CEST – with a screening of a creative video experience that transported viewers into imaginative and stimulating worlds.
Enrico Armenia – a regular at Polo Giovani, who captivated the audience with travel stories, explorations, and personal narratives.
FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano – led the public on a special guided visit, unveiling the history and secrets of the Polo Giovani spaces.
Greenpeace – offered creative screen-printing workshops that combined art with environmental awareness.
Intercultura – with an info stand on international mobility and opportunities for educational experiences abroad.
Mimma Dreams – with interactive activities designed to spark reflection on human rights, inclusion, and global citizenship.
Parole Controvento – brought the energy of slam poetry to the stage, with poets competing in a battle of verses and rhymes that won over the audience.
Europe Direct Trieste – Eurodesk Center – provided information on study, work, and mobility opportunities across Europe.
A diverse lineup united by a common goal: to share values, encourage participation, and foster connections among people.
The Mimma Dreams Experience
Among the evening’s highlights was Mimma Dreams, which enthusiastically participated by sharing its projects and message of a more inclusive and human rights–oriented world.
Their stand offered visitors several playful and reflective activities, including the “Map Yourself” board, where each person was invited to mark “where you were born, where you live, and where you’d like to live” – encouraging a global perspective on personal identity. Other activities included themed tic-tac-toe games with globe and EU symbols, a memory game, and a word puzzle based on Mimma Dreams’ initiatives.
The community’s response was extraordinary: curiosity, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to participate were present throughout the evening. Many attendees left with flyers and contacts to learn more about the projects.
Also in attendance was Maurizio De Blasio, City Councillor for Education and Family Policies, who visited the Mimma Dreams stand with great interest and asked numerous questions about the association’s activities and focus areas.
Poetry and Comedy: A Perfect End to the Night
The evening ended on a high note: first, with a slam poetry session curated by Parole Controvento, where poets battled for the audience’s top score; and finally, with the sharp and engaging humor of Betaverso, whose interactive stand-up comedy made people laugh and think at the same time.
PGTSummer 2025 thus came to a close with a strong message of community, inclusion, and creativity. The event wasn’t just a summer celebration, but a confirmation that in Trieste, there exists a vibrant network of young people, associations, and institutions that can come together to create spaces for meeting, growing, and imagining the future.
