Mimma Dreams on La Repubblica: when local work becomes a national story
Being featured by La Repubblica is not just a satisfaction: it is a moment of awareness. It means pausing for a moment and looking at the path taken, recognizing the value of the daily work that often remains behind the scenes.
Over the years, Mimma Dreams APS has gone from being a small “neighborhood” association to becoming a point of reference in the Trieste area for international cooperation and the promotion of the territory. A growth built step by step, through projects, relationships, and a clear vision: to create real connections between the local and the international.
A commitment that starts locally and looks beyond borders
The article published in La Repubblica tells the heart of our work: operating locally without ever losing sight of the European and global context. For us, international cooperation is not something distant, but a concrete tool to strengthen communities, rights, and opportunities.
As Nunzia and Agnese, president and vice president of the association, point out, Italy does not always fully value the Trieste area. That is why Mimma Dreams works every day to build a link between micro and macro, between the local dimension and international relations, turning local experiences into shared and replicable practices.
The projects told
The service presents some of the projects that best represent the identity of Mimma Dreams:
YOUPART, to counter gender-based violence
EMPOWHER, to promote intercultural dialogue among young people and women from rural backgrounds for the creation of digital enterprises
ECHOES OF UNITY, a traveling exhibition supporting Ukrainian art that passes through Italy, Greece, Poland, and Portugal
BIOTILES, a scientific project dedicated to developing new tools to prevent climate change in lagoon ecosystems
Different projects, but united by a common vision: to generate social, cultural, and environmental impact through cooperation.
A shared achievement
This recognition is an achievement we feel is shared. Behind every association there are people, relationships, energy, and values. For this reason, being featured in a national newspaper is also a way to give visibility to those who believed in the projects.
