Progetto Inclusive Sports Programs for Individuals with Autism

Project duration
Med in EU is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme. The project aims to promote intercultural dialogue among teenagers aged 13 to 18, coming from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean, countering discrimination and xenophobic bullying through the use of innovative training methods based on digital gamification and participatory storytelling. Since the 1990s, tensions linked to social inequalities, exclusion and discrimination against young people with a migrant background or belonging to cultural minorities from the southern shore of the Mediterranean have increased, tensions that have fuelled real phenomena of xenophobic bullying, often carried out through modern digital communication tools. MEDinEU was created to respond to this challenge, giving young people and educators practical tools to recognise it and fight it.

Expected results and impacts
The socio-educational facilitators will strengthen their skills in digital storytelling, educational gamification, prevention of xenophobic cyberbullying and promotion of intercultural dialogue, with direct impacts on the quality of the educational pathways they will carry forward in their communities.
The young people involved will become active protagonists of change: through digital educational games, storytelling workshops and the co-creation of the Euro-Mediterranean Youth Manifesto, they will help build new narratives on identity, coexistence and diversity, also in relation to socio-climate justice themes.
- Virtual exchanges for socio-educational youth workers: training on digital storytelling and gamification as educational levers to prevent xenophobic bullying, with the creation of a permanent community of Euro-Mediterranean youth workers and a shared MOOC platform.
- Virtual exchanges for young people: an experiential pathway combining a digital story-game ("Choose Your Path"), interactive quizzes and storytelling workshops, to explore identity, stereotypes and online behaviours through a critical and empathetic lens.
- Civic engagement and Manifesto against hate: intercultural storytelling workshops that will lead young people to co-create awareness videos against xenophobic cyberbullying and a Euro-Mediterranean youth Manifesto on inclusion, coexistence and socio-climate justice.
- Project meetings: a Kick-off Meeting in Naples (Italy), an Intermediate Meeting in Rabat (Morocco) and a Closing Meeting in Tunis (Tunisia), scheduled across the 36 months of the project.
