Giovani In Vetta
Businesses, traditions and communities starting again from the mountains.
The Giovani In Vetta project stems from real needs identified by organizations that work with and for young people living in the mountain communities crossed by the Alpine arc, where teens face a strong contradiction: they live in areas rich in resources and identity but with few real opportunities.

The mountain, which historically has been a place of passage and exchange among European communities, today in many areas experiences opposite dynamics: isolation, shrinking services, less access to education and work, and more fragile social networks.
These dynamics are also confirmed by statistical evidence. An analysis by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission identifies features linked to so-called "lonely places": Alpine territories marked by depopulation, poor access to services and low connectivity. Remote areas cover almost half of the European Union’s territory and host about 37 million people, with an average age that is particularly high.

Planned Activities
Expected results and impacts
- Greater awareness of entrepreneurial and professional opportunities linked to one’s own mountain area
- Development of transversal skills (teamwork, problem solving, intercultural communication) through non-formal methods
- Strengthening the sense of belonging and a shared Alpine identity at European level, overcoming the perception of isolation
- Creation of a peer network active even after the end of the project, as a basis for future collaborations and initiatives
The heart of the project is a youth exchange (Youth Exchange) involving 30 young people from mountain areas of the Alpine arc in the different partner countries. Through non-formal activities, workshops, discussion and community life, participants will explore together the theme of mountain entrepreneurship and local traditions as a lever to revive their territories.
