The PhEU – Philosophize EU project stems from the need to go beyond a purely informative or institutional narrative of Europe, to support young people and youth workers in questioning its meaning as a historical, philosophical and ethical project, closely linked to the concrete challenges faced by new generations.
We believe that philosophical dialogue is a particularly effective tool to support this process, as it makes it possible to move past approaches based on slogans or one-way transmission of content, fostering instead the development of critical thinking, democratic participation and the ability to form independent opinions.
We also believe that one of the central challenges of our time is understanding how to concretely build a Europe "united in diversity", in a context where differences concern not only cultural or linguistic aspects, but also values, worldviews and political positions. In this scenario, it becomes essential to create spaces where young people can engage, learning to manage disagreement and to recognize the value of dialogue as a foundation of democratic coexistence.

Planned Activities
Expected results and impacts
- Greater mastery of philosophical dialogue as a methodology to apply in work with young people
- Strengthening critical thinking and the ability to argue and listen to positions different from one’s own
- Greater awareness of the historical and ethical meaning of the European project, beyond the institutional narrative
- Building a professional network among youth workers from different countries, useful even beyond the project’s duration
The project includes a mobility for youth workers, involving 28 youth workers from 7 European organizations (the 6 partners and the lead organization). Through the philosophical dialogue method, participants will experience first-hand tools and practices to later bring into their daily work with young people in their respective local contexts.
