Expected results and impacts
The expected impact of the "Rights in Dialogue" project includes several positive outcomes, both at an individual and collective level:
Increased empowerment of young people with disabilities (DFC): Participants will gain greater awareness of their rights and develop the skills to defend them, becoming more autonomous and proactive in advocating for their social inclusion and active participation.
Promotion of a more inclusive environment: The project will contribute to creating a more inclusive society, where diversity is celebrated, and discrimination—especially towards people with disabilities—is reduced. Activities aim to raise awareness among communities and institutions, fostering a climate of greater acceptance and openness.
Greater awareness of human rights: Participants and their communities will become more informed about human rights, particularly those related to the CRPD, and will be better equipped to recognize and defend these rights in a conscious and informed way.
More active and informed participation in democratic life: Young people involved will develop skills for participating in political and social life, contributing to the strengthening of democracy and greater inclusion in decision-making processes at both local and European levels.
Intercultural networks and European identity: The project will promote the creation of intercultural connections among young people from different nationalities, contributing to building a European identity based on mutual respect and understanding, with a lasting impact on future collaborations and cultural exchanges.
Development of autonomy and self-determination: Young people with disabilities will experience opportunities that promote self-sufficiency, enabling them to take on responsibilities in daily life and strengthening their ability to live independently.
Overall, the expected impact is to generate lasting change, improving the quality of life for young people with disabilities and promoting a fairer, more inclusive, and more aware society.
The activities of the "Rights in Dialogue" project include human rights awareness workshops, focusing on the CRPD, to help participants understand and defend their rights. Visits to institutions that promote inclusion and democratic participation are also planned, with practical sessions aimed at developing decision-making skills. Additionally, the project encourages intercultural exchanges, fostering mutual understanding, and practical activities to enhance the autonomy of young people with disabilities.
In summary, the activities of the "Rights in Dialogue" project aim to equip young people, especially those with disabilities, with the necessary tools to become key actors in building a more inclusive society. Through human rights education, exposure to inclusive environments, the acquisition of democratic participation skills, and the promotion of autonomy, participants will be better prepared to live independently and actively contribute to the creation of a fair and diversity-respecting community.
