Pen, camera, and piano, Giulia, Linda, and Puntino: a look at the Seminiamo Parità project.
“I learned that change only happens when ordinary people get involved and they get engaged, and they come together to demand it”
- Barack Obama.

From June 4 to 9, 2025, a diverse group of young people—varying in age and background, specifically youth from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Campania, and Puglia—came together in Castellammare di Stabia, united by a common goal: sowing equality. This is, not coincidentally, both the name and the heart of the project Seminiamo Parità, part of the Erasmus+ programme and carried out by Mimma Dreams APS in collaboration with local partner organizations: Cilento Youth Union (as lead partner), Moh Bari, and APG Italia.
The project was developed starting from the work done by individual focus groups based in Trieste, Agropoli, and Bari, who later gathered in Castellammare to bring their efforts together. We, the youth, united by the values of equity, inclusion, social justice, solidarity, and non-discrimination, poured our hearts into this project, which aims to explore the issue of gender-based violence and identify effective strategies to prevent and combat it.
The contribution came through interviews with citizens from various local communities, role playing, debates, workshops, and—most importantly—the creation of concrete political recommendations, a policy paper, and a final video. What sets this project apart is precisely the high level of practicality in both the activities carried out and the goal pursued.
The message we want to send is clear: we young people don’t just imagine change—we want to be the ones driving it.
To identify the most effective strategies, a crucial element was the active and ongoing involvement of decision-makers—professionals who, in their daily work, deal directly with gender-based violence and understand its depth and complexity. Their participation gave us the opportunity to approach the issue from an objective and informed perspective.

I am referring, for example, to Mirko, a psychologist and sexologist, but above all a volunteer at the Inter Pares Association, which operates within the CUAV of Trieste (Center for men who have committed violence against women and children), and to Erica, a social worker at the anti-violence centers (CAV) of Sabri and the surrounding area. We extend our heartfelt thanks to them on behalf of all of us for the passion that drives them every day—often at personal risk—to serve the community, motivated by a strong ethic and moral duty that commands our highest respect.
When engaging with people like our decision-makers and the activists who work for these organizations, and many others beyond, we cannot help but feel deep gratitude and admiration for their daily commitment and their contribution to the community and the protection of fundamental rights for all citizens
This experience was not just work; it included moments of togetherness, playful times like Raffaele’s birthday party, and meaningful social moments such as the sacred and profane concert by Simone—known as Puntino—the group’s musician. Through his concert, he wanted to convey messages of equality, respect, and the fight for peace. It was an incredibly significant moment, filled with free emotion, respect, sharing, and solidarity.
